Richard Jezior
Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT) Level 3
Richard was first introduced to Iyengar yoga as a university student but a diagnosis of Ankylosing Spondylitis resulted in a lengthy pause in Richard's yoga journey. He resumed his practice in 1996 at Yoga Centre Toronto under the guidance of Marlene Mawhinney in her Special Needs practices and has been a devoted practitioner ever since. Richard has attended the Iyengar Ramamani Institute in Pune which has provided him with a deep appreciation of Iyengar Yoga as therapy. The special practices were essential to his own recovery and his ongoing management of Ankylosing Spondylitis. Richard's teaching style motivates students to both challenge and respect their limitations. He seeks to bring empowerment, control, and hope to his students while incorporating themes of playfulness and self-discovery into his classes.
